Instructions
For this assignment you will complete the Medication Assisted Treatment
(MAT) training available through SAMSHA.
- The website to access the training is https://pcssnow.org/medications-for-opioid-use-disorder/waiver-training-for-nurses/ (Links to an external site.)
- Click on Nurse Practitioners and start the 16 hour
MAT Waiver Training Course.
This is the second of 2 courses. The first course was previously
completed in a prior module. At the completion of both courses, you will be
eligible to apply for a DEA X Waiver for Buprenorphine MAT. There is some
discussion that this requirement may be removed in the future for clinical
providers. Regardless, the training is essential to prescribing and
treating with these medications. Please also save your certificates so
you can present them to future employers as completed.
