You are the attorney for a village school board. The board wants to allow any teacher who so desires to provide a Christmas tree in the classroom during the Christmas season. They have invited you to the next board meeting to give your opinion as to whether the school district would violate the Constitution by allowing Christmas trees in the classroom.

Create a PowerPoint presentation (12-15 slides) that advises the school board of your decision and explains your rationale. Discuss principles of both freedom of expression and establishment of religion. Include detailed speaker notes and make sure the board understands the legal principles that form the basis of your opinion. Text is limited to no more than 5 lines per slide and 5 words per bulleted item.

Presentations should include the following:

Audience-appropriate slides, with detailed speaker notes that explain the key points listed on each slide.

Appropriate use of visual aids and elegant graphics.

Appropriate use of font sizes.

Major points clearly stated, supported by specific details, examples, or analysis, and organized logically.

While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
